❈  GAME RULES

Every game has its rules. There are not a whole ton at BB, but the ones that are here are expected to be followed.

  PLAYER RULES

☆ Don’t be a dick.
We’re all here to have a good time. Ain’t nobody got time to deal with dingleberries.

★ No, seriously, don’t be a dick.
BB was built to just have a good time and be as less stress as possible. If you have an issue, we ask you try to discuss it like adults or bring it to mods to help you discuss it like adults. You will likely be told to stop or leave. Don’t link to wankgate issues– they will not be looked at. If you have been invited, everyone trusts you will not be a dick. Don’t mess that up, you only have one strike.

☆ Respect each other.
Ask other players before having your character maim them. Respect other players' stated boundaries. On the flipside, if you have any of those please clearly state them! Overstepping is usually an accident, we all goof sometimes! If you’re not sure, just ask.

★ Have a reliable method of contact.
Be it plurk, discord, or simply having your message box on dreamwidth open to PM’s. You have to have a reliable way for mods and other players to contact you if needed!

☆ Sign AC We’re a very laid back game by design. The only real activity requirement is to sign the AC so. Sign the AC. Thank you! (Life happens, so let us know if anything is happening! Help us help you.)

★ Use those Content Warnings!
Adult themes are okay! Violence is a thing that happens in RPGs! Label your boners and graphic imagery appropriately!

☆ Be an Adult
You can be a young adult. You can be an older adult. Just be at least 18-20 because there might be boners and graphic imagery. Dinglebabies not permitted.

★ Player Cap: 20
Presently there is a play cap in place so that I can be sure that things are going smoothly and I can work out any bugs or questions along the way. I don't anticipate needing to up this number but we'll cross that bridge later!

  CHARACTER RULES

☆ Character Limits: 0
Currently, there are no character or cast limits and no real intention to cap these in the future. However, if the situation arises that this needs to be re-evaluated, this could change in the future.

★ Can I app this character?
Yes.
Probably.
Keep going.

☆ OCs and Fanon OCs
Yes. You can bring your OC. Yes. You can bring your weird silent protag you had to make up half their headcanon for. If you are not sure they would fly, you can ask!

★ Game transplants are Good and Cool.
You’ll just have to tell us about their adventures and how they’ve grown and diverged from their canon material.

☆ Doppelgangers and You: A case by case affair.
Doubles of characters are allowed if they are sufficiently different from each other. If Sally wants to app Bob the Cat from Animal Crossing: The Video Game Conglomerate, and Frank wants to app the Bob the Cat he played for five years in a survival horror game (??) by golly that would be fine, probably. Those Bobs have had very different experiences and become very different cats. If Frank was apping Bob from just a different title in the video game series, though, there’s really not a lot of difference there and that is likely not to fly. If you’re not sure, just ask! We’ll take a look and see if a case can be made.

★ Non-humanoid? No problem.
Play this out however you think would be fun! Did Red XIII have such a fun time in a sailor suit that you want him to wear so many different outfits? That’s cool with me. Robots? No problem. You do not have to make characters humanoid if you don’t wish to, but you can if you want!

Some might have issues with writing in their notebooks, but creative solutions can be found for such problems. Custom stamp sets ahoy.

☆ Can I app a child?
As long as they are self-sufficient, younger characters are fine! Just. Don't be weird, please.

★ Playercest: Now what?
Sometimes playercest is hard to avoid in very small games! It is perfectly fine. Sometimes you want to have that interaction on screen, or multiple groups are interacting. Go for it! It's fine! The caveat is that playercest threads may not count for activity rewards.

Here are some scenarios:
☆ A thread played entirely by one player would not count towards rewards for either playercest character.
☆ A thread with another player may be used for both playercest characters if their primary interactions are with the other player.
☆ A thread with playercest characters acting in tandem (like a familiar) will count for rewards for one of those characters.
★ If you're not sure, ask!

  INVITATION RULES

If there is someone a player would like to invite, please contact Bret to ask for an invitation. Players can have one invite per month (but like Bret is open to negotiations). If the game proves to have a need beyond this system we'll come back to it.
